A new nanotechnology centre is to be developed in Ulyanovsk Region
A nanotechnology centre is to be developed in Ulyanovsk Region with total investment of 1.277 billion roubles. Rusnano JSC press service announced that the corresponding investment agreement has been signed by Andrey Svinarenko, the Director General of the Rusnano Fund for infrastructure and educational programs, and Dmitry Ryabov, Director General of Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, OJSC. Scientific Research Institute of Atomic Reactors JSC, production investment company Diatomit-Invest LLC, Simbirsk foundry Company CJSC, Ulyanovsk Nanotechnology Centre LLC, innovation companies from Ulyanovsk and Dimitrovgrad took part in the project.
Total project investment is at least 1 billion 277 million roubles, including no more than
759 million roubles co-financing from the Fund for infrastructure and educational programs.
Ulyanovsk nanotechnology centre will specialise in three areas: instrument making and electronics, materials from new properties, nuclear technology and their medical application.
Scheduled completion of construction of the nano-centre building in Ulyanovsk is for the end of 2012. The project for creating the centre in this city was approved as a result of the second open nanocentre creation competition in Russian regions.
The Fund for infrastructure and educational programs was founded in 2010 in accordance with the Federal Law On Reorganisation of the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies. The Fund is designed to develop innovative infrastructure in the field of nanotechnology, including implementation of Rusnano educational and infrastructure programs which have already started.
